Strada is a company designed by a coordinator for coordinators.
Chanel Carlascio, our fearless leader, coordinated disability services at a university before starting our company. Over the past 12 years, many more staff and consultants have come on board. We understand the pressures coordinators, HR personnel, educators, and managers feel as you navigate the dynamic world of accessibility and accommodations.
We know you’re busy
We’re guessing one pressure you feel is a time crunch. There’s a lot on your plate! We understand.
We want to share what we know with you so you can spend less time caught in web searches and more time coordinating barrier-free access for your students, customers, and employees, equipped with more resources and information.
Our goal for this blog is not to blow our own horn, but to make a meaningful contribution to the disability access community. We hope this blog will become a central hub where you will find expert advice and discussion.
Here’s what we look forward to sharing with you each week:
- Experience: Our coordinators, consultants, and partners will contribute what they know from their own unique careers in disability services.
- Choice: We know accommodations are not “one size fits all.” We will provide the unbiased information you need to make choices that work for your situation.
- Access: We’ll review and discuss services, tools, and resources which facilitate access to communication and allow people to reach their unique human potential.
- Passion: We share your passion for helping others. We believe disability rights are human rights. Our belief that everyone has the right to full inclusion will underpin all of our posts.
Keep us posted!
Let us know in the comments what topics you hope we’ll tackle with you. Whether it’s the latest assistive technology advancements for classrooms, how to replace YouTube’s auto-captions with quality captions, what it takes to make your website accessible, or navigating the latest disability policies, we hope you’ll read about it here.
